After serving in the US Army, Bailey did his undergraduate work at Strayer University and graduate studies at American University, both in Washington D.C. He was a professor of Information Systems at Strayer University for 27 years. In 1986, he was named the 6th President of Strayer University and later appointed to Chairman of the Board of Trustees. In 2001, Ron retired to Tampa, FL, and was named President of The Bailey Family Foundation. Bailey remains active in the Tampa community by serving on The University of Tampa Board of Trustees, The Tampa General Hospital Board, The Salvation Army Tampa Command Board, The Palm Bank Board, as well as The Bailey Family Foundation Board.

Dan served on the boards of several funds as independent director and was active in the securities industry as an “industry” arbitrator for the NASD and The New York Stock Exchange. He is a former member of the Investment Committee of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay.
