Police officers fearing for jobs in Michigan use scare tactics on billboards
Police fearing for their jobs in Bay City, Michigan may have taken their politicking a little too far. They purchased two billboards which stated that laying off five police officers could cause an increase in shootings, stabbings, robberies and beatings. One of the massive public advertisements went as far as questioning the city’s decision to put a new roof on City Hall, by stating, “a new roof won’t stop you from being beaten, robbed… but five police officers could have.” The mayor has called the billboards “over the top”. And the city commission president said that they are “distasteful and harmful to the community.”
